Regional Food Service Sales Manager

JOB SUMMARY:

 

Responsible for the sale of product throughout assigned region to meet plan objectives for sales volume, market penetration, and profitability. Present corporate programs, administer pricing policy,

negotiate sales agreements and establish service parameters.  Perform field sales calls targeting identified customers, brokers and distributors while continuing to develop present customer base.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

An essential job duty of this position is regularly reporting to work on time and being able to perform the essential duties of the position.

  • Effectively manage Profit and Loss Statement through pricing, trade spending, product mix, and travel and entertainment.
  • Efficiently handle all product claims and complaints while maintaining positive customer relationships.
  • Execute and implement corporate marketing programs and initiate account-specific promotions.

  • Provide up-to-date competitor information.

  • Manage and develop Foodservice Territory Sales representatives to reach full potential and to meet specified volume, promotional activity, and spending goals, if applicable.
  • Develop and maintain an effective Food Broker Network throughout Sales Region through the use of regularly scheduled product training and business evaluations.
  • Conduct regular business and performance evaluations to guide the development of reps, if applicable.
  • Make recommendations concerning improvements to policies and procedures or any other matters relative to enhancing the effectiveness of the department or Company.
  • Up to 75% travel
  • Accept special projects and complete them promptly.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: High School diploma or equivalent.

Experience or Training: 8-10 years of previous sales experience to include meat or perishable food background; 3-5 years with direct broker sales or management experience.  Must possess the ability to work independently and be highly self-motivated. Must possess excellent negotiation skills, strong oral and written communication skills. Experience managing a Profit and Loss Statement is required.

Technology/Equipment: Strong computer skills with proficiency in MS office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

The majority of work duties are conducted in an office and manufacturing environment. There may be exposure to production areas requiring the use of PPE, uniform or protective clothing, and safety equipment.
