Jones Dairy Farm, a family owned and operated business for over 130 years, is seeking an HR Manager. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual that can demonstrate leadership, organization, a high level of accuracy, and attention to detail.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related business field with 8 years of Human Resources experience; 3+ years management experience. Strong computer background, exceptional interpersonal, organizational and communication skills. Solid working knowledge of various types of insurance plans, pension plans and 401k plans. Comprehensive understanding of local, state and federal laws. Accuracy, confidentiality, efficiency and professionalism are essential. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with focus on multiple projects while meeting deadlines. Experience with a labor union and/or manufacturing environment.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the VP of Human Resources, manages all functions of the Human Resources department to include, recruiting, benefits, work comp, payroll, policy administration, compensation and performance review system. Responsible for assisting in research and preparation for labor negotiations and/or legal actions under the VP direction. Manages and maintains the Affirmative Action /EEO program compliance. Manage all company benefit programs in compliance with all policy, contracts and regulatory requirements. This includes the Medical package, Flex Plan, Vision, Dental and Life insurance programs as well as Short term Disability and annual 5500’s. Manage and maintain Pension and 401(k) programs for JDF and RAPA. Responsible for FMLA and Worker’s Compensation programs. Manages the annual performance review process to ensure fairness and consistency in review process. Oversees employee training and development plans. Take the lead in organization of all company recreational events. Perform audits on HR records and systems. Work closely with the Safety Team on employee safety efforts and maintain safety data. Responsible for OSHA 300 reporting and compliance. Maintain cooperative relationship with Union employees and retain a thorough understanding of the Labor Agreement. Act as backup for other HR positions, including payroll processing. Work on special projects as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Sufficient manual dexterity and visual acuity to operate all office equipment efficiently. Requires frequent walking, bending and sitting with exposure to production areas requiring use of safety equipment and exposure to cold, hot, damp and noisy environment. Minimal lifting over 30 lbs required. Less than 15% of time travel may be required.
