POSITION SUMMARY: 

BS degree in Microbiology or related field.  Minimum 2 years of experience in a food laboratory.  Knowledge of ISO/IEC Standard 17025 and GLP’s.  Strong computer skills.  Knowledge of basic statistics.  Good problem solving, time management and organizational skills.  Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and to work in a group setting.   High degree of professionalism and confidentiality. 

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Cross-trained in all positions in the laboratory in order to provide coverage, as needed.
  • Primary internal trainer for Laboratory Methods and SOP's
  • Performs weekly QC verification
  • Maintain supplier quotes and placing and tracking laboratory orders
  • Completes special projects as assigned
  • Requires flexibility to provide coverage for all positions
  • Rotating weekend and holiday schedule

Position Summary:

Primary responsibility to manage and maintain TraceGains electronic document system.  Collaborate with QA and Production to create, review and update checks in TraceGains. Train users in office and production settings to properly use TraceGains.  Develop and maintain SOPs.  Responsible for performing Process Control audits. Manage Approved Supplier Program by keeping accurate lists of suppliers, respond to documentation requests, and update document information to ensure it is accurate and relevant.  Monitor for compliance of JDF, HACCP, and USDA standards.  Perform pre-shipment reviews in a backup capacity as well as act as back up to the QA Coordinator. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain TraceGains for accuracy and efficiency
  • Resourcefully manage Approved Supplier Information
  • Maintain accurate working knowledge of all positions for back up coverage
  • Accurately perform Process Control Audit
  • Interacts with production employees, supervisory staff, government representatives and office/managerial staff professionally

Safety Coordinator

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual that can demonstrate strong organizational and communication skills with knowledge of government regulations in regard to safety and environmental or regulatory issues with a high level of accuracy, and attention to detail.

Position Summary:

Maintain all OSHA required written programs to include but not limited to Powered industrial trucks, Lockout/Tagout, PPE, HAZCOM, Respiratory, Hearing Conservation, Confined Space, Emergency Action Plan, Bloodborne Pathogen and PSM program.  Keep knowledge current on all OSHA, NIOSH and other regulatory issues relative to JDF facility and grounds.  Under direction of the EHS and Training Manager, manage the Company safety programs including but not limited to worker’s compensation investigations, compiling statistics to identify trends and recommending solutions to reduce injuries and hazards.  Actively participate as Chairperson of the Safety Committee.  Assist in the development and conduct all safety training for employees.  Attend outside training sessions to keep current on all safety and environmental laws and regulations, best practices and trends.

Responsibilities:

Maintains compliant Process Safety Management Program
Monitors and Maintains OSHA Compliance
Under direction of EHS & Training Manager, manage the Company safety efforts in a cost-effective and efficient manner.
Interacts with all employees in a cooperative and effective manner.
Ensures accuracy and legal compliance of all safety programs, maintains all necessary documents and performs necessary analysis to make viable suggestions for improvements in the current programs or systems.
Conducts thorough and effective incident investigations, providing recommendations for solutions and prevention of future accidents
Actively participate as Chairperson of the Safety Committee
Assist in the development of safety training programs and conducts all safety training for employees
Maintain up to date knowledge on all safety and environmental laws and regulations

Basic Qualifications:

BS Degree in the Occupational Safety field
Proficient with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
Must have very strong organizational and communication skills
A high degree of confidentiality, efficiency and professionalism
Knowledge of government regulations in regard to safety and environmental or regulatory issues
Ability to focus on multiple projects while meeting deadlines is a must

Position Summary:

Responsible for the effective planning, directing and coordinating all aspects of the operations procedures.  This includes scheduling, training, and productivity of the employees; quality of the products; safety compliance efforts; equipment effectiveness and safety.  

 

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and supervise activities of personnel and determine work assignments
  • Administer company polices, work rules, and labor contract in a fair and consistent manner
  • Ensure work is performed in compliance with HACCP regulations, quality inspections and USDA guidelines
  • Conduct daily safety inspections to ensure safe operations are met
  • Ensure availability ofmaterials based on projected requirements
  • Make recommendations for improvements to procedures, methods, facilities, equipment and other matter relating to the effectiveness of the production areas

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Supervisory experience required, preferably within the food manufacturing industry
  • Post-secondary degree in a food or business related field desired
  • Experience in a unionized environment preferred
  • Strong interpersonal, decision-making and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment as well as ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work weekends
  • Bilingual capabilities in Spanish/English a plus
