Jones Dairy Farm, a family owned and operated business for over 131 years, is seeking a 2nd Shift Production Supervisor.  This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who can demonstrate leadership, drive, and a focus on safely producing distinctive quality products.

 

Position Summary:

Responsible for the effective planning, directing and coordinating all aspects of the operations procedures.  This includes scheduling, training, and productivity of the employees; quality of the products; safety compliance efforts; equipment effectiveness and safety.  

 

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and supervise activities of personnel and determine work assignments
  • Administer company polices, work rules, and labor contract in a fair and consistent manner
  • Ensure work is performed in compliance with HACCP regulations, quality inspections and USDA guidelines
  • Conduct daily safety inspections to ensure safe operations are met
  • Ensure availability ofmaterials based on projected requirements
  • Make recommendations for improvements to procedures, methods, facilities, equipment and other matter relating to the effectiveness of the production areas

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Supervisory experience required, preferably within the food manufacturing industry
  • Post-secondary degree in a food or business related field desired
  • Experience in a unionized environment preferred
  • Strong interpersonal, decision-making and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment as well as ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work weekends
  • Bilingual capabilities in Spanish/English a plus

Position Summary:

Responsible for clerical support in the shipping and receiving department.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Run shipping, receiving and storage reports
  • Enter data from bills of lading into computer
  • Coordinate truck driver paperwork and loading by processing required documents
  • Direct drivers to proper dock locations as needed
  • Filing and miscellaneous clerical support functions

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma
  • Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Previous experience in Shipping and Receiving desired

Full Time Safety Coordinator

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual that can demonstrate strong organizational and communication skills with knowledge of government regulations in regard to safety and environmental or regulatory issues with a high level of accuracy, and attention to detail.

Position Summary:

Development and maintenance of all OSHA required written programs to include but not limited to Powered industrial trucks, Lockout/Tagout, PPE, HAZCOM, Respiratory, Hearing Conservation, Confined Space, Emergency Action Plan, Blood borne Pathogen and PSM program. Keep knowledge current on all OSHA, NIOSH and other regulatory issues relative to JDF facility and grounds.  Assist with all EPA required written programs, compliance and records to include but not limited to Risk Management, Emergency Planning, Storm Water Discharge, Tier 2, SPCC, SARA and EPCRA and Air emissions programs. Under direction of the Sr. Vice President of Manufacturing, proactively manage the Company safety programs including but not limited to worker’s compensation investigations, compiling statistics to identify trends and recommending solutions to reduce injuries and hazards.  Actively participate as Chairperson of the Safety Committees and lead the administration of safety awareness and/or incentive programs.  Actively participate on the Government Compliance Committee.  Develop and/or conduct all safety training for employees.  Attend outside training sessions to keep current on all safety and environmental laws and regulations, best practices and trends.  

Responsibilities:

  • Maintains compliant Process Safety Management Program
  • Monitors and maintains Environmental Compliance
  • Administers the Company safety efforts in a cost-effective and efficient manner
  • Holds effective training sessions timely and audit HR’s training records for accuracy
  • Interacts with all employees in a cooperative and effective manner
  • Ensures accuracy and legal compliance of all safety programs, maintains all necessary documents and performs necessary analysis to make viable suggestions for improvements in the current programs or systems
  • Conducts thorough and effective incident investigations, providing recommendations for solutions and prevention of future accidents
  • Takes the leadership role in the Safety/Ergonomic Committees
  • Works closely with Human Resources to monitor and take appropriate steps to control Worker’s Comp. costs/claims 

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS Degree in the Occupational Safety field
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Must have very strong organizational and communication skills
  • A high degree of  confidentiality, efficiency and professionalism 
  • Knowledge of government regulations in regard to safety and environmental or regulatory issues
  • Ability to focus on multiple projects while meeting deadlines is a must
