Jones Dairy Farm, a family owned and operated business for over 130 years, is searching for a Recruiter/HR Generalist.  This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who can demonstrate initiative, drive and the ability to work in a team environment. He or she should be flexible with their approach to recruiting, and able to drive process to deliver desired hiring goals for the Organization.

 

This Recruiter/HR Generalist is responsible for full life cycle recruiting for positions.  This includes hiring strategy, candidate sourcing, screening, assessments, setting interviews, extending offers and handling onboarding tasks.  This position will be in charge of sourcing candidates using a variety of channels to broaden reach/scope for specific roles as well as coordinating the new hire process to ensure a seamless transition to new employee orientation.

 

Position Summary:

Responsible for employee recruitment, interviewing, and selection processes.   Performs new employee orientation for all employees keeping material current and relevant.  Conducts and analyzes stay interviews as well as exit interviews.  Responsible for managing the company’s internal job posting process. Administer and maintain the Employee Appraisal System. Keep organizational charts and employee job descriptions updated.  Maintain all training records, run reports to identify training needs monthly and arrange for such training and prepare training materials as needed.  Maintain cooperative relationship with Union employees and retain a thorough understanding of the Labor Agreement.   Work on other HR functions and special projects as assigned.   

 

Responsibilities:

  • Achieves staffing goals by timely recruiting qualified individuals while maintaining a low turnover rate
  • Effectively maintains job descriptions to ensure legal compliance and works with department managers to confirm accuracy of the descriptions
  • Administers the Employee Appraisal System and Job Posting Process accurately and timely
  • Utilizes present-day recruiting tools creatively, effectively and cost efficiently
  • Works cooperatively with the labor unions and non-union employees to quickly and satisfactorily resolve conflicts, problems and provide answers through knowledge of contract and policies
  • New employee orientations are done thoroughly and are compliant with all regulatory programs
  • Conducts stay interviews and exit interviews timely; tracks and analyzes data collected
  • Special projects

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field with 3 years Human Resources administrative experience
  • Experience with a labor union and/or manufacturing environment
  • Solid working knowledge of recruiting, interviewing, selecting and retaining employees
  • Accuracy, confidentiality, efficiency and professionalism are essential
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment with focus on multiple projects while meeting deadlines
  • Strong communication, organizational and technology skills

Jones Dairy Farm, a family owned and operated business for over 131 years, is seeking a 2nd Shift Production Supervisor.  This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who can demonstrate leadership, drive, and a focus on safely producing distinctive quality products.

 

Position Summary:

Responsible for the effective planning, directing and coordinating all aspects of the operations procedures.  This includes scheduling, training, and productivity of the employees; quality of the products; safety compliance efforts; equipment effectiveness and safety.  

 

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and supervise activities of personnel and determine work assignments
  • Administer company polices, work rules, and labor contract in a fair and consistent manner
  • Ensure work is performed in compliance with HACCP regulations, quality inspections and USDA guidelines
  • Conduct daily safety inspections to ensure safe operations are met
  • Ensure availability ofmaterials based on projected requirements
  • Make recommendations for improvements to procedures, methods, facilities, equipment and other matter relating to the effectiveness of the production areas

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Supervisory experience required, preferably within the food manufacturing industry
  • Post-secondary degree in a food or business related field desired
  • Experience in a unionized environment preferred
  • Strong interpersonal, decision-making and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment as well as ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work weekends
  • Bilingual capabilities in Spanish/English a plus
