Fill a heavy bottomed pan with 3 inches of oil and heat over medium heat.

Insert a skewer into the end of each sausage.

Whisk together cornbread mix, flour, milk and egg in a large bowl. Dunk each sausage skewer into the batter. Fry for 3-4 minutes or until puffed and golden brown.

While the corn dogs cool, whisk the mustard, maple syrup, and sriracha (if using) in a small bowl. Serve with warm corn dogs.
