Milo Jones and his family move to Fort Atkinson, WI, and establish a small dairy farm.
1889
Milo C. Jones started selling his mother’s sausage recipe to support his family. It grew into Jones Dairy Farm.
1903
Jones launched the ‘Little Pig Sausages’ ad campaign in national magazines like the Saturday Evening Post and Good Housekeeping — reaching households across America.
1910
Jones products sold in the United Sates and Canada coast-to-coast.
1933
Mary P. Jones is named the third president of Jones Dairy Farm.
1946
After almost 60 years of operating seasonally, Jones Dairy Farm is reorganized to produce sausage and other products year-round.
1959
Jones Dairy Farm debuts a new logo and new packaging. Sales skyrocket.
1965

Jones responds to the demand for lower fat foods by inventing the world’s first “light” sausage.

We first introduced Jones Dairy Farm’s line of fully cooked and browned all natural breakfast sausage, one of the first of its kind.

The creation of a dedicated foodservice division.
2001
Philip H. Jones is named 8th President and CEO of Jones Dairy Farm.
2008
All Jones Dairy Farm products produced in Fort Atkinson, WI, are Certified Gluten-Free.
2014
The company became the first firm to dry age bacon on an industrial scale, formulating guidelines for the process that would be adopted by the USDA.
2017
Jones opened our organic plant and later launched its first products in 2019.
2023
Ryan Robinson becomes the president of Jones Dairy Farm.

Why is it called Jones Dairy Farm if you don’t sell dairy products?
Is Jones Dairy Farm still family owned?
Yes, and always has been. Jones Dairy Farm is a seventh-generation family-owned and -operated company. The current CEO lives on the same land in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin that his great-great-great grandfather staked in the 1830s. That’s not a marketing line — it’s just the truth.
Where are Jones products made?
Nearly all Jones products are made at our facility in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin — the same town where Milo Jones first started selling sausage in 1889. The only exception is our scrapple, which is produced at a separate facility.
Is the Jones property a historic landmark?
It is. The Jones Dairy Farm property was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978. The 300-acre property includes the original farmhouse built in the 1840s, a barn from around 1839, and the sausage kitchen added in 1907. The family still lives and works here today.
What is the Jones Market?
The Jones Market is our retail store located at 601 Jones Avenue in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. Opened in 2015, it occupies the original Jones Dairy Farm plant building.
