Position Summary:

The General Ledger Accountant is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the Company’s general ledger and supporting accurate, timely financial reporting. This role plays a key part in period-end and year‑end close processes, account reconciliations, and internal controls in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate has strong GAAP knowledge, attention to detail, and experience working with inventory‑driven financials.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and post recurring and non-routine journal entries in accordance with U.S. GAAP
  • Perform periodic general ledger account reconciliations, including but not limited to cash, inventory, accruals, fixed assets, and intercompany accounts
  • Support period end, and year end close activities, including variance analysis and financial statement support
  • Maintain fixed asset records, depreciation schedules, and related reconciliations
  • Assist with inventory accounting, including review of standard costs, manufacturing variances, and coordination with operations as needed
  • Research and resolve account discrepancies and unusual transactions in a timely manner
  • Support internal control documentation and compliance efforts, including audit support and walkthroughs
  • Assist with preparation of schedules for external auditors and internal management reporting
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and close efficiency
  • Perform special projects and analyses as assigned

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.

Experience or Training: 3 years of related accounting experience. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work efficiently within deadlines.

Technology/Equipment: Strong computer skills with a high-level proficiency in MS office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Experience with an ERP system in a manufacturing environment.

 

Physical Requirements:

An individual must meet the mental and physical requirements described here to successfully perform this position’s essential functions. Most of the work for this position is performed in an office environment, however, there may be exposure to production areas requiring the use of PPE, uniform or protective clothing, and safety equipment.

Manual dexterity to operate all office equipment efficiently; Visual dexterity to operate all office equipment efficiently; Walking; Bending; Standing; Sitting; Exposure to cold, hot, damp, and noisy environments; Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
