Jones Dairy Farm, a family owned and operated business for over 135 years, is searching for a Jones Market Supervisor.  This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who can demonstrate critical thinking abilities, self-reliance, initiative, drive and the ability to work in a team environment.

 

Position Summary:

Responsible for managing the Jones Market at a profitable level by using creativity and prior merchandising experience to grow the customer base and increase sales. Recommend and implement ideas while maintaining its family-owned image.  Responsible for supervision and training of the Customer Service Representative and Purchasing Coordinator, front room clerks, kitchen staff, and other support staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to federal, state, and local food safety and sanitation guidelines and all company policies.
  • Facilitate the production of Chef made products ensuring they are produced in a timely fashion.
  • Work closely with the Jones Market Manager and Sales & Marketing Specialist to help organize and participate in Market special events.
  • Set clear expectations and effectively supervise Jones Market staff.
  • Responsible for operating and training employees on various pieces of food preparation machinery used in the store.
  • Schedule and supervise retail store staff for optimal efficiency
  • Effectively track ingredient and product dates to guarantee quality and food safety while controlling product waste.
  • Maintains kitchen inventory to include food and cleaning products.
  • Maintain excellent customer relations with customers, coworkers and vendors.
  • Responsible for food preparation, menu development, and execution while maintaining food and employee safety.
  • Enter new items and update existing items in Web Office timely and accurately, ensuring that the web store matches the company store.
  • Organize, prepare, staff and work Jones Market events.
  • Process special requests for donations and special deals, as directed by the Jones Market Manager.
  • Successfully execute eCommerce and Corporate Christmas programs.
  • Coordinate product processing, pricing, labeling, and tracking with Process and Innovation Assistant and Purchasing Coordinator.
  • Demonstrates professionalism at all times.
  • Accept special projects and completes them promptly.

 

Basic Qualifications:

Education:   High School diploma or equivalent.

Experience or Training: 5 years of experience in retail sales with prior supervisory responsibilities.  Prior supervision kitchen experience is required. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, creativity, and outstanding customer service skills.  Able to maintain a positive and professional attitude in a fast-paced environment.  Ability to work without close supervision.  Must possess a high attention to detail.

Technology/Equipment: Strong computer skills with proficiency in MS office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), as well as customized software packages. Must know how to operate a cash register

Preferred Qualifications:

Technology/Equipment: Experience with Web Office and Point of Sale systems.

Manual dexterity to operate all office equipment efficiently, Visual dexterity to operate all office equipment efficiently, Walking, Bending, Stooping, Reach above shoulders, Standing, Sitting, Talking, Hearing, Finger manipulation, Exposure to cold, hot, damp, and noisy environments, Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

Working Environment:

The majority of work duties are conducted in an office or kitchen environment. There may be exposure to production areas requiring the use of PPE, uniform or protective clothing, and safety equipment.
