Senior Maintenance Technician – 1st & 2nd shift

Jones Dairy Farm, a family owned and operated business for over 135 years, is searching for a Senior Maintenance Technician – 1st & 2nd shift. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who can demonstrate critical thinking abilities, self-reliance, initiative, drive and the ability to work in a team environment.

Position Summary:

Responsible for advanced troubleshooting, equipment reliability, and technical leadership within the maintenance team. This role leads reliability within assigned areas, leads root cause analysis, and drives improvements to preventative and predictive maintenance systems. Works closely with Maintenance Leadership to improve uptime, reduce downtime, and enhance overall plant performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead advanced troubleshooting of complex equipment issues and serve as the primary technical resource for difficult or recurring problems
  • Drive safe, reliable, and efficient equipment operation through identification and elimination of failure points
  • Ensure accurate and detailed CMMS documentation of PMs and corrective maintenance
  • Evaluate and continuously improve preventive and predictive maintenance programs to increase plant reliability
  • Mentor and support Maintenance Mechanics and Technicians by sharing technical knowledge, troubleshooting approaches, and best practices
  • Partner with the Project Manager, Planners, and Supervisors to prioritize work, plant shutdowns, and optimize labor and resources
  • Maintain and encourage proper housekeeping in all areas
  • Assist in other areas of plant maintenance as required

Basic Qualifications:

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers at all levels
  • Must exemplify the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrates ability to lead troubleshooting efforts, work independently, and guide others in resolving equipment issues
  • Excellent customer service skills such as problem solving, timeliness, and follow-up- required
  • Previous experience- 5+ years in a Maintenance Technician Role, with demonstrated success in advanced troubleshooting and equipment reliability
  • Proficient with pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical systems, mechanical systems, PLCs, electronics, plumbing, welding, machine tools and schematic reading
  • Proven ability to develop, optimize, and improve PM and PDM strategies
  • Strong understanding of root cause analysis and ability to apply solutions effectively in a fast-paced environment
