Homemade Corn Dogs Loaded With Jones Sausage
Give classic fair food a savory twist with these homemade Sausage Corn Dogs made with Jones Dairy Farm Golden Brown Sausage Links. Each sausage is dipped in a light, flavorful cornbread batter and fried until golden and crisp. Pair them with a sweet-heat maple mustard dipping sauce for the ultimate snack or appetizer.
Ingredients
- Corn Dogs:
- 1 package Jones Dairy Farm Golden Brown Pork Sausage Links, thawed
- 1 small box cornbread mix
- 1/3 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- oil for frying
- skewers for corn dog sticks
- Maple Mustard Dipping Sauce:
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon sriracha (optional)
Directions
Fill a heavy bottomed pan with 3 inches of oil and heat over medium heat.
Insert a skewer into the end of each sausage.
Whisk together cornbread mix, flour, milk and egg in a large bowl. Dunk each sausage skewer into the batter. Fry for 3-4 minutes or until puffed and golden brown.
While the corn dogs cool, whisk the mustard, maple syrup, and sriracha (if using) in a small bowl. Serve with warm corn dogs.
