3rd Shift Supervisor

Manufacturer of Premium Meat Products in Fort Atkinson

 

Jones Dairy Farm, a family-owned and operated business for over 135 years, is searching for a 3rd Shift Supervisor. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who has the desire to make a significant impact within a dynamic and growing food manufacturing company.

 

Position Summary:

Responsible for effective planning, directing, and coordinating all aspects of the operations procedures that include production, shipping, and maintenance. This includes scheduling, training, and productivity of the employees, quality of the products, equipment effectiveness, and safety.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure availability of materials based on projected requirements.
  • Ensure the department is operating in compliance with all safety requirements.
  • Administer company policies, work rules, and labor contracts in a fair and consistent manner.
  • Ensure the safety and security of the site.
  • Meet Quality goals relating to food safety and quality, as well as internal and external audit results improvements.
  • Ensure work is performed in compliance with HACCP regulations, quality specifications, and USDA guidelines.
  • Make recommendations for improvements to procedures, methods, facilities, equipment, and other matter relating to the effectiveness of the production and shipping areas.
  • Coordinate and supervise activities of the personnel and determine work assignments efficiently.
  • Meet all efficiency goals related to yields, labor costs and inedible.
  • Maintain and improve facilities and equipment to comply with current best practices in Sanitary Design.
  • Provide effective leadership and direction adhering to safety policies and meeting safety goals.
  • OH Costs (Indirect labor & supply costs) are controlled as directed.
  • Communicate with all outbound carriers, manage trailer dock assignments and address any conflicts that arise during the loading process.
  • Ensure products are shipped accurately and in proper rotation according to established quality standards, products are accounted for according to established standards, and all reports are maintained.
  • Maintain knowledge of shipping documents and possess the ability to create and process documents during the absence of the shipping clerk.
  • Ensure building components and equipment are properly maintained, creating work orders as needed.
  • Complete administrative functions accurately and timely including Regulatory and Operations paperwork.
  • Maintain inventory of shipping supplies and requisition replacement supplies as needed.
  • Effectively communicates and collaborates with all departments.
  • Assist in all CMMS functions.
  • Must be able to work 10-hour days and 6 to 7-day weeks as needed.
  • Accept special projects and complete them promptly.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent

Experience or Training: High level of organizational and communication skills with the ability to motivate and direct people.

Technology/Equipment: Strong computer skills with proficiency in MS office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with an ERP program.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Education: College degree

Experience or Training: 1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience in conflict resolution and experience working in a union environment. Experience with Process Safety Management.

Technology/Equipment: Experience with CMMS program

 

Physical Requirements:

Manual dexterity and visual acuity to operate office equipment efficiently. Ability to distinguish color. Require frequent walking, bending, standing, reach above shoulders, and sitting with exposure to production areas requiring use of safety equipment and exposure to cold, wet, damp, hot and noisy environments. Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
