Ingredients
- 1/2 large yellow onion, diced
- 1 package (16 oz.) Jones Dairy Farm All Natural Pork Sausage Roll, thawed
- 2 packages (16 oz.) cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup pepperoncini, chopped
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella, divided
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- crostini, for serving
Directions
Heat oven to 375°F.
Heat a drizzle of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add onion and cook 2 to 3 minutes.
Add sausage and cook, breaking it up with a wooden spoon, until browned and fully cooked through. Remove from heat.
Add softened cream cheese to a large mixing bowl. Stir in the cooked sausage and onion mixture, drained tomatoes, pepperoncini, 1 cup mozzarella, Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
Transfer mixture to a 9-inch round baking dish or 9×9-inch square dish. Top with remaining 1 cup mozzarella.
Bake for 20 minutes. Then broil 3 to 4 minutes, or until the top is lightly browned and bubbly.
Let cool 10 minutes before serving. Serve warm with crostini.
