Grilled Cheese Sandwiches with Sausage
Sausage Patties Make Grilled Cheese Better
Grilled Cheese Sandwiches with Sausage start with a spreadable filling of shredded cheddar, softened cream cheese, and Dijon mustard seasoned with salt and pepper — a step up from plain sliced cheese. Spread on Texas toast, layered with Jones Dairy Farm Golden Brown All Natural Pork Sausage Patties, buttered on the outside, and griddled until golden and melted, this sausage grilled cheese recipe serves four in just 15 minutes. A better lunch than the sandwich it’s named after.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
- 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 8 slices Texas toast, or other thick-sliced bread
- 6 Jones Dairy Farm Golden Brown All Natural Pork Sausage Patties, thawed
- butter
Directions
Heat large skillet or grill pan over medium heat.
In a bowl, mix together cheddar cheese, cream cheese and Dijon mustard. Season with salt and pepper.
Lay out 8 slices of Texas toast. Divide cheese mixture evenly, spreading on each slice. Top 4 of the slices with 1 1/2 sausage patties each. Place the other 4 slices on top, cheese side down. Butter the outsides of the bread and grill on the skillet until golden brown on both sides and cheese is melted.
