Will Jones’s Ideal Father’s Day (with Recipes!)

Will Jones is a 7th-generation family member, a Jones Dairy Farm Project Manager, and a proud father of two.

My ideal Father’s Day would focus on simple, meaningful moments that are fun, low-key, and centered around bonding time with my wife, Ashley, and our two children, Milo, and Madelynn. Early morning coffee, kiddo snuggles, and cartoons are always a great way to ease into the day.

After that, we’d move into breakfast. Nothing extravagant. Pancakes, Jones Cherrywood Smoked Extra Thick Bacon, Jones All Natural Maple Pork Sausage Links, and scrambled eggs, or anything else we can throw together as a family. Milo and Madelynn “helping” in the kitchen usually means twice the mess, but that’s part of the fun!

When we’re looking to try something beyond the classics, we’ll throw together some Cheesy Bacon and Egg Sandwiches or these Breakfast Pigs in a Blanket on a Stick for the kids (and for me).

After Breakfast

The rest of the day would stay relaxed. Maybe a trip to the park or some running around outside on the farm. There doesn’t have to be any big events. Just some time to enjoy each other, unwind, and make some fun family memories.

Dinner would be easy. Burgers on the grill, pizza, or takeout from a spot we all like. Nothing that involves a sink full of dishes. Once the kids are down for the night, the perfect end to the day is some relaxation time with Ashley watching a movie or one of our binge-worthy shows on Netflix.

When I do have some time, my favorite thing to make on the grill is pulled pork, which usually takes 18-20 hours of smoking. Some great sides to go with it are this Crispy BLT Potato Salad or these Sausage Cornbread Muffins.

The Best Part About Being a Dad

Being a dad has been the most rewarding part of my life. Watching my two kids grow, learn, and develop their unique skills has been incredibly gratifying. Every day brings something new and exciting through their eyes, and it’s a joy to experience the world alongside them. Their curiosity, laughter, and unconditional love have taught me more about patience, empathy, and purpose than anything else in life. Fatherhood has not only shaped who I am, but it continues to inspire me to be better every single day.

Thanks for reading, and Happy Father’s Day!
