Braunschweiger, Apple, and Arugula Sliders
Rich Braunschweiger Meets Crisp Apple and Arugula
Rich meets bright in this slider: savory Braunschweiger, crisp apple, peppery arugula, and a sharp Dijon finish, all stacked on a sweet Hawaiian roll. Easy enough for a weeknight lunch, impressive enough for a platter.
Ingredients
- 1 (12-count) package King’s Hawaiian Rolls
- 3 (8 oz.) packages Jones Dairy Farm Sliced Braunschweiger
- 2 medium apples, tangy and crispy variety, unpeeled
- 1 bag arugula
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice (to keep apple slices from browning)
Directions
Separate the rolls and slice each in half horizontally, keeping the top and bottom of the pack intact if you prefer to build them as one sheet.
Quarter and core the unpeeled apples, then slice thinly. Toss the slices with lemon juice to keep them from browning while you assemble the sliders.
Place 2 slices of Braunschweiger on each roll bottom. Top with apple slices and a few arugula leaves.
Spread Dijon mustard on the roll tops and set them in place to complete the sliders.
Tip: For a party platter, keep the sliders covered and chilled until 15 minutes before serving.
