Classic Holiday Stuffing Meets Canadian Poutine
This Poutine Stuffing takes classic holiday stuffing in a bold new direction. Bread cubes and browned Jones All Natural Pork Sausage Roll bake until golden, then get topped with cheese curds and smothered in a rich homemade gravy spiked with cider vinegar and ketchup. The side dish that will have everyone asking what’s different this year.
Ingredients
- 12 cups dried bread cubes
- 16 oz. Jones Dairy Farm All Natural Sausage Roll, cooked and crumbled
- 1 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1/2 cup chopped fresh parsley
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 12 oz. cheese curds
- 4 cups chicken or beef broth
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1 tablespoon cider vinegar
- 1 tablespoon ketchup
- 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
Directions
Combine dried bread cubes, cooked sausage, 1 1/2 cups chicken broth, scallions, parsley, and pepper in a large mixing bowl.
Spoon into a 9×13 inch casserole dish.
Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
While stuffing is baking, make gravy.
Remove from oven and top with cheese curds.
Return to oven for 5 minutes.
Remove from oven and pour hot gravy over the stuffing.
Serve hot.
For Gravy:
Combine butter and flour in a medium saucepan. Heat over medium heat, stirring, for 1-2 minutes.Add 4 cups broth, cider vinegar, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper, whisking continuously.
Bring to a boil and cook, stirring, until thickened.
