Jones Dairy Farm at Wisconsin Dairy Breakfasts in June 2025

National Dairy Month is a big deal at Jones Dairy Farm, but not for the reason you might think.

Despite our name, Jones makes no dairy products at all. We were home to a working dairy farm until the mid-1980s but ceased operations to concentrate on the meat products you’ve come to love. This includes all natural sausage, dry aged bacon, naturally smoked ham, Canadian bacon, braunschweiger, and meatballs.

However, just because Jones is not in the dairy business anymore doesn’t mean the company can’t celebrate June Dairy Month. In fact, Jones products are the perfect complement to any farm-style breakfast which is why the company has become an official sponsor of eight upcoming dairy breakfasts around Wisconsin.

What is a Wisconsin Dairy Breakfast?

There is a 50-year tradition of Dairy Month farm events during June. One of the more popular events is a “Breakfast on the Farm.” In communities around the state, the public is invited to visit a working dairy farm for a delicious breakfast, farm tour, and dairy fun for the whole family. A different farm family has the privilege of hosting the breakfast each year so they can share their own story. Learn more about what to expect here.

When are Wisconsin Dairy Breakfasts?

Wisconsin Dairy Breakfasts are held on weekends throughout the month of June to coincide with National Dairy Month. Please join Jones Dairy Farm at the following local dairy farms for a hearty and delicious breakfast featuring an array of fresh Wisconsin-made dairy products along with Jones Dairy Farm Sausage, Ham, and Canadian Bacon. Each farm and breakfast menu is unique, so check out more than one. The events are fun and affordable for the entire family, so we hope to see you on the farm!

CIA Scholarship Recipients Visit Jones Dairy Farm

For nearly 20 years, Jones Dairy Farm has upheld a meaningful tradition: Welcoming scholarship recipients and faculty members to our headquarters in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. This spring, the company hosted three recent graduates from the Hyde Park campus of the Culinary Institute of America (CIA), giving them a firsthand look at what makes the 136-year-old, family-owned and operated company so special.

The guests of honor included Kayla Cordell, Olivia Ellet, and Abigail Flores. Joining them were faculty members from the campus: Associate Professor Chef Bryan Tobias, Associate Dean Chef Jason Potanovich, and Vice President of Enrollment Management Rachel Birchwood.

An Action-Packed Agenda

The busy two-day visit included a variety of activities:

Visitors also had the opportunity to connect with members of the Jones management team and experience the hospitality and charm of Fort Atkinson.

“‘It’s not a family business; it’s a business family’ — and that sentiment perfectly summed up our visit,” said Chef Bryan Tobias. “It was incredibly exciting and informative to see the production process and the impressive technological innovation in action. But what stood out even more was the company’s unique history, guiding philosophy, and unwavering commitment to traditional values: producing high-quality products and delivering excellent customer service.”

The Top Chef-Style Challenge

A highlight of the visit was a fun culinary challenge, where the three young chefs had five hours to work as a team to plan a menu using Jones products, shop at a local grocery store, and prepare a multi-course meal for 10 guests. The result was an exemplary and delicious five-course menu:

Jones Dairy Farm Braunschweiger Mousse, Caramelized Onion Cracker, Tangy Mustard, Pickled Bell Pepper
Arugula and Baby Greens, Jones Dairy Farm Scrapple Lardon, Poached Egg, Radish Champagne Vinaigrette
Jones Dairy Farm Sausage Ricotta Ravioli with Sage Brown Butter Sauce

Investing in Culinary Education

Jones Dairy Farm established its Endowed Scholarship Fund at the CIA in 2006, and later sponsored the school’s high-volume production teaching kitchen in 2015.

In addition to the CIA, we support culinary students at three Wisconsin-based schools: Fox Valley Technical College, Madison Area Technical College, and Blackhawk Technical College. Over the past two decades, nearly 200 scholarships have been awarded — and many of those recipients have made the meaningful journey to Fort Atkinson to connect with the company that believes in supporting the next generation of culinary professionals.

1) What’s your favorite item to make/bake for your family and friends?
Any time I cook for my friends and family off the clock I always try and cook outside – I love cooking on live fire and do so whenever I get the chance. Typically this means steaks, grilled chicken, smoked veggies, and sometimes handmade tortillas.

2) Who or what is your biggest culinary influence (or food influencer)?
My favorite food influencer is Sophia Roe. I am inspired by her whimsical yet refined approach to food, as well as her work in the field of food insecurity and community outreach.

3) What advice would you give students currently enrolled in culinary school that you wish somebody shared with you?
It’s simple, you get out what you put in – ask questions, get involved, get curious about everything.

4) What is your favorite Jones product and why?
The original pork sausage – not only is it delicious, but its simplicity in ingredients makes it incredibly versatile.

5) What did receiving the Jones scholarship mean for you?
The Jones scholarship was instrumental in my culinary education – the scholarship eased the burden of finances and allowed me to focus more of my time and energy on immersing myself in school. It allowed me to pour myself fully into my education without worrying about my next tuition payment.

MCI’s mission? To evaluate, recognize, and promote exceptional foodservice products that embody the highest standards of culinary excellence. Their testing process is the most comprehensive qualitative and quantitative product evaluation in the industry, and only 20% of all products tested qualify for the Seal of Excellence.

Leading the Way in Gluten Free Support

Long before “gluten free” became a household term, we were ahead of the curve, crafting sausage, bacon, and ham without gluten or the Big 9 allergens. For individuals with celiac disease or gluten sensitivities, trust in their food is critical — and we have been earning that trust for decades. By partnering with the Gluten-Free Food Program (GFFP), the only certifier guaranteeing gluten levels as low as 5 parts per million or fewer, we ensure our products meet the highest safety standards.

Why Certified Gluten Free Matters to Jones

Confidence in the food you buy is key, and third-party certification offers exactly that. The GFFP seal is a trusted verification that our products meet the strictest gluten free standards. Every certified gluten free product is made in dedicated gluten free facilities in Fort Atkinson, eliminating cross-contamination risks and ensuring safety for those who must avoid gluten completely.

Certified Gluten Free by the Gluten-Free Food Program

Over the years, the celiac community has embraced our commitment to quality and safety. This support has fueled the company’s dedication to not only producing safe, high-quality products but also advancing celiac awareness. We proudly back initiatives that accelerate diagnosis, improve treatment options, and support research toward a cure.

Supporting the Celiac Disease Foundation

Our partnership with the Celiac Disease Foundation (CDF) began in 2009 and has only grown stronger over the years.

“Jones Dairy Farm support over the past 15 years has been vital to advancing our mission to improve the lives of those with celiac disease,” shared Janie Magill, CDF Director of Development. “The Jones commitment to safe, trusted gluten free products has made a profound difference, helping individuals and families feel more confident in their food choices.”

Thanks to our sponsorship, CDF supports impactful programs like Teen Talk, which provides a supportive space for teens with celiac disease, and Glutle, a fun and educational weekly word game that fosters community engagement.

Partnering with Beyond Celiac

Since 2021, Jones has also supported Beyond Celiac, an organization with a mission that aligns closely with the company’s values.

“At Beyond Celiac, our goal is to unite patients, researchers, and partners to drive early diagnosis, advance innovative research, and accelerate the discovery of treatments and a cure for celiac disease,” explained Deanne Field, Beyond Celiac Director of Corporate Partnerships. “Jones Dairy Farm’s partnership sends a powerful message to the celiac community: their health needs are taken seriously.”
