Ingredients:
8 Jones All Natural Golden Brown® Chicken Sausage Patties
1/4 pound muenster cheese, grated
8 slices sourdough bread

Onion Jam
4 small onions, sliced thin
1 tablespoon olive oil
Salt to taste
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
1/4 cup brown sugar

 Garlic Butter
1 stick butter
1 tablespoon garlic powder

 

 

 

 

 

 

DIRECTIONS

In a medium saucepan begin to heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the onions and season with salt and caramelize for about 15 to 20 minutes. Then add in the apple cider vinegar and brown sugar and continue to cook until the liquid is reduced. The onions should look deep brown and have a slightly sticky consistency. 

Heat the Jones Dairy Farm All Natural Chicken Sausage Patties according to package instructions. 

Melt the butter in a small saucepan over low heat and then stir in the garlic powder.

Brush the outer slices of bread with garlic butter. Begin to assemble the sandwich with cheese, onion jam, sausage patty, more cheese and onion jam, and a bread slice.

On a griddle over medium heat, toast the sandwich pressing gently with a plate to compact it (this helps the cheese melt and the sandwich warm thoroughly). Flip the sandwich and press on the other side.

Eat while warm and gooey!
